A wrapper that runs perfectly on a lab-scale sample line can jam constantly
once it hits a real flow wrapper at production speed. Custom protein and
nutrition bars packaging solutions specified to your actual equipment, with
product arriving on schedule across Canada and the United States.
Protein and nutrition bars run almost entirely on flow wrap, and flow wrap film is unforgiving about seal integrity at speed. A film that seals fine at slow test-run speed can fold, wrinkle or fail to seal cleanly once a co-packer runs it at full production rate, and a bar with a weak seal picks up moisture and goes stale or chewy long before its stated shelf life.
A protein bar packaging supplier that owns a press sells you whatever film that press already runs, rarely tested against your co-packer’s actual line speed and seal settings. Custom bar wrappers should survive your actual line, not just a sample run. Our sourcing and brokering model starts with your bar’s coating, your fill line, and your production speed, then finds the film that actually holds up. That is what custom protein and nutrition bars packaging solutions should mean, not a wrapper that only works in a sample run.
Most bar brands discover a seal or barrier problem only after production speed exposes it. We specify against your actual flow wrapper up front, so that discovery never happens on a live production run.
Bar brands come to us for film that seals cleanly at your actual line speed, coatings that survive the wrap without melting through, and one point of contact instead of five separate suppliers. The right packaging program should deliver all three the first time you run production, not after a costly line stoppage tells you it failed.
Chocolate-coated, baked, and raw bars each pull toward a different seal type and film structure. Wholesale nutrition bar packaging bought off a catalog rarely accounts for this, and flow wrap bar packaging built for one coating type often fails on another. We match the format to your coating and your line, as part of a wider custom protein and nutrition bars packaging solutions program.
The standard format for individually wrapped bars, specified to your flow wrapper's web width, seal profile and production speed.
Purpose-built for chocolate-coated bars, sealing without the heat that would otherwise melt the coating during the wrap cycle.
For multi-bar retail packs and bite-sized formats sold as a resealable multi-serve product rather than a single wrapped bar.
Counter and case-ready cartons that hold a full flavor range for gym, retail and foodservice placement.
Seal integrity matters more for bars than almost any other snack category, because a bar’s ingredients, protein, fats, and often a chocolate or yogurt coating, are all sensitive to the moisture a weak seal lets in. A bar that goes from chewy to hard, or picks up an off flavor, has usually failed at the seal long before the film’s stated barrier properties come into play.
Chocolate and similar coatings add a second variable. Standard heat seal wrappers can melt a coating during the seal cycle itself, which is why cold seal film exists specifically for coated bars, sealing through pressure rather than heat. Uncoated baked or raw bars can typically run on standard heat seal film without that concern.
Nutritional information printing also needs real panel space, more than most snack formats require, so film layout has to account for that from the start rather than shrinking the brand graphics to fit regulatory copy after the fact. Our flexible films and pouches range covers this full structure list, inside the wider custom packaging program we build for each brand. Our approved manufacturing partners hold certifications including Food Safety Certification, SQF, BRC, ISO, and FSC, covering both direct food contact and secondary and tertiary packaging in food facilities. Documentation is available on request.
Four things happen behind the scenes on every bar account, in this order, before your first production run is ever scheduled.
We look at your current wrapper and your coating type to find where seal integrity or barrier is falling short at production speed.
We take your line speed and seal type into account before sourcing and speak to your co-manufacturer directly, so film runs clean at full production rate.
We operate from Toronto into Canada and the United States. Customs brokerage sits inside our service, run through the same logistics and fulfillment team.
Our make and hold programs let you print at the efficient quantity and draw stock down as needed, instead of funding a year of every flavor at once.
The internal work above happens on our side. Here is what the process looks like from your seat, start to first delivery.
Send your current wrapper specification and coating details. We come back with where seal integrity is falling short at speed.
We source against your flow wrapper and volume, not a catalog. You get a specification and pricing built for your actual production.
First production run ships, and future orders draw down from your make and hold inventory instead of starting a new print run from zero.
We manage packaging production for food and beverage brands across North America through a vetted network of manufacturing partners, most spending between one hundred thousand and five hundred thousand dollars a year on packaging. That is the stage where a dedicated procurement hire is not justified yet, but a seal failure on a live production run is already expensive, which is exactly where our custom protein and nutrition bars packaging solutions save the most.
Wrappers, cartons, shippers, labels and displays arrive on one purchase order. Flexible printers cannot supply folding cartons and sleeves, which is why most bar brands run two or three vendors side by side.
We review your coating type and packaging requirements before quoting anything, surfacing needs a line-item quote never asks about.
We factor your flow wrapper's speed and seal type into the specification and coordinate with co-packers through our co-manufacturer partnerships service.
Between sixty-five and seventy percent of our revenue comes from repeat customers. Read what they say on our client testimonials page.
We supply protein bar brands, granola and cereal bar makers, and functional nutrition bar companies scaling from co-packer sample runs into full production. Wholesale bar packaging and multi-bar retail packs often run side by side in the same program, and if you are moving from a small co-packer to a high-speed flow wrapper, that transition is exactly where seal problems tend to surface for the first time.
Bars also sit alongside formats we already supply in volume: display cartons for gym and retail placement, corrugated shippers for direct to consumer orders, and retail display trays for grocery placement. Brands expanding into any of those add them to the same broader packaging program rather than starting a fresh supplier search for each new format. Brands moving from a small co-packer to a larger contract manufacturer often discover their existing film specification does not transfer cleanly to the new line’s speed and seal settings.
Reliability that teams can measure.
As a small but growing brand, we struggled to find a packaging supplier who would take us seriously. AR not only welcomed us — they partnered with us. Their work with other startups showed in the quality of our packaging, and Daron went above and beyond, including helping our co-manufacturer optimize their equipment so our pouches came out perfect. We couldn’t ask for a more supportive, solution-focused partner.
ARG is the packaging partner we always needed. They cut through confusion, move fast, and operate like part of our internal team. Their expertise has streamlined our product development, and their above-and-beyond support — like Daron personally delivering samples to our co-manufacturer — is unmatched. We trust them completely.
Armour Rose Group believed in us when other suppliers didn’t. They treated us with the professionalism of a much larger brand and played a real role in helping us scale. Their team is collaborative, reliable, and always willing to solve problems together. Daron’s proactive support and genuine investment in our success stand out above anything we’ve experienced in packaging. Highly recommended.
From day one, the team has been a trusted partner. They provided clear guidance, cost-effective solutions under tight timelines, and the flexibility to scale with a startup. Communication is fast, pricing is transparent, and deliveries are consistently on time and high quality. Support is always there when needed, which makes a real difference. The entire experience makes you feel safe and in good hands— we absolutely recommend Armour Rose Group.
We source and supply the formats used across protein and nutrition bars: flow wrap film specified to your machine’s web width and speed, cold seal wrappers for chocolate-coated bars, stand-up pouches for multi-bar and bite-sized retail packs, and display cartons for gym, retail and foodservice placement. Alongside packaging we supply corrugated shippers for direct to consumer orders, pressure sensitive labels, and counter or PDQ displays for grocery placement.
Because we source production through a vetted network of manufacturing partners rather than manufacturing ourselves, no single production method limits what we can offer. Start with a conversation about your current specification and we will map out what your range actually needs.
This is one of the most common issues we see in this category. Film that seals cleanly at a slow sample-run speed can fold, wrinkle, or seal incompletely once a co-packer runs it at full production rate, because seal dwell time and pressure both change with line speed.
The fix is specifying film against your actual production speed from the start, not a sample run speed. Protein bar shelf life packaging depends on getting this right, since a poor seal shortens shelf life regardless of what the film’s barrier rating claims. We work directly with your co-packer to confirm the film performs at the speed you will actually run, rather than discovering the gap once a full batch has already jammed the line.
It depends on whether your bar has a chocolate or similar heat-sensitive coating. Standard heat seal wrappers can melt that coating during the seal cycle itself, leaving a messy seam and an inconsistent seal. Cold seal film solves this by sealing through pressure rather than heat, which protects the coating but requires a compatible cold seal applicator on your flow wrapper.
Uncoated baked or raw bars can typically run on standard heat seal film without that concern. We confirm your coating type and your equipment’s sealing capability through our co-manufacturer partnership service before recommending either route.
Mono material polyethylene structures qualify for store drop-off recycling across much of North America, though flow wrap film’s thin gauge and small format make this a newer application than it is for larger pouches, so we confirm availability and cost against your specific volume. Post-consumer recycled content is a more established option for the outer cartons and multi-bar pouches in your range even where the individual wrapper itself has fewer sustainable options.
We set out what each option does to your seal performance, your shelf life, and your unit cost, then you decide.
Minimum quantities depend on the format, the print method, and the manufacturer we source from, so a single figure would mislead most bar brands who ask. Flow wrap rollstock runs to a different minimum than finished stand-up pouches, and digital printing carries lower minimums than plate-based printing, which matters for brands running multiple flavors.
What we can do is separate the print minimum from your cash outlay. Our make and hold inventory programs let you print at the quantity that earns the best unit price, then release stock against actual usage, so a slower-moving flavor is not funded at the same rate as your best seller.
Yes. We operate from North York in Toronto and supply brand owners across Canada and throughout the United States. Cross-border movement is routine here, and customs brokerage forms part of what we handle, so a Canadian brand shipping into a US distribution network is not managing clearance separately.
Delivery scheduling, inventory positioning, and freight coordination run through our delivery and inventory management service. If you operate several facilities or use co-packers in different locations, we can hold stock centrally and release it to each site. Call 416-688-8641 or use the form on this page to get started.
Send us your current wrapper specification and coating details. We come back with where seal integrity is falling short and what the same range costs running through one supplier. No obligation to move anything, and no pressure to change what already works.
